We’ve always prided ourselves on the high level of engagement in our in-person workshops. But what surprised us was that we’ve been able to maintain that same level of interaction and hands-on learning in our online workshops. Whether it’s in a physical room or a virtual space, participants stay fully immersed, collaborate effectively, and leave with practical, real-world insights. The energy and engagement we’re known for remain strong, no matter where you’re joining from.
What Does It Look Like?
Our online training simulations use a proprietary app paired with conferencing software and breakout rooms. It is best for 15 – 20 participants and the run time is 4.5 - 6.5 hours (time blocks of 2.5 – 4.5 hours).
In Income|Outcome Online, participants work in teams of 3-5, and start by building their own business on the game board. As the workshop progresses through business cycles, each team takes control of their company, making key operational decisions and tracking their results. It’s a dynamic and competitive environment where learning happens naturally—because everyone wants to win.
The facilitator introduces financial planning tools in real-time, so teams can immediately apply their knowledge to new challenges. Participants make decisions, monitor performance, and adjust their strategies based on measurable outcomes.
Breakout rooms keep teams engaged, while facilitators ensure the session stays dynamic.

Learning Outcomes
In the Better Business Decisions simulation, the goal is for participants—front-line workers, managers and executives—to develop their business acumen and to learn how to use and grasp essential financial tools and concepts. We believe the best way to ‘teach’ business acumen is through experience.
Throughout the simulation, employees will gain experience with the following concepts and tools to develop their business acumen as emerging leaders:
- Financial statements and their management uses: Income Statement (P&L) and Balance Sheet
- Investing, generating profits (or losses!)
- The difference between cash and profit
- Fixed and variable costs
- The need to control working capital
- How market conditions impact business decisions
- Implementing change and measuring results
- Standard financial metrics (operating income, net income, ROA)
- Your company’s specific financial metrics
